Employer requirements:
  • For some visas, an employer will need to lodge a sponsorship application to become an approved sponsor
  • Employers will also need to nominate the worker you wish to sponsor under a nomination application.
  • Under the nomination application, employers will need to meet certain criteria such as offering a genuine position and market salary rate
  • In some regional employer nominated visas, the employer will also be required to obtain a certificate from a regional certifying body to confirm that the position you nominate is genuine and that the salary package you are offering to the foreign employee is in accordance with the market salary rate.

  • You will have to have at least two years’ experience and may also undergo a skill assessment depending on the job and the employee’s circumstances
