Partner Visa
There are several partner visas that can help you and your partner settle in Australia.
Whether you are engaged, in a de facto relationship, or married, you’ll need to make an informed decision and get the right visa for your situation.
Partner visas generally come with hefty application fees, which is why we go the extra mile to make sure it’s done right the first time.
Contact us today and book an obligation-free meeting to discuss your partner visa options.
Important Points
- If you’re not married, you’re usually required to have been in a de facto relationship for at least 12 months before applying a de facto partner visa;
- You may be able to register your relationship and get a relationship certificate from one of the Australian States or Territories to prove your de facto partner relationship
- If have not been in a relationship for 12 months, you may still be able to lodge a partner visa application depending on your situation
- Once your initial temporary partner visa is granted, you may be eligible to work and get Medicare services
- You will need to wait for about two years to be considered for a permanent partner visa, and it may take another year for the permanent visa to be granted;
- If you apply for a partner visa onshore, as long as you have the right visa at the time of lodgement, you will be granted a bridging visa, which will allow you to stay in Australia until your partner visa is processed and finalised.
